Physocarpus Diable 3 Litre Pot
Physocarpus or Nine Bark are deciduous shrubs with peeling bark. They have alternate, kidney-shaped leaves which are mid – dark green in colour. Nine bark are grown for their foliage and flowers. The flowers, borne in early summer, are usually white and form a cup shape.
Physocarpus Diable is a beautiful deciduous shrub, the young foliage starts a bright coppery colour that matures to purple with clusters of shallowly cup shaped white flowers in late spring that are followed by glossy red berries. As the plant ages the bark starts to peel, height can reach up to 1.5m.
Physocarpus are best grown in borders and prefer acidic, well drained soil in full or partial sunlight. Prune old stems back to the base after flowering.
