Tiarella
Tiarella or foam flower are very hardy perennials that are semi evergreen - as they reduce to a smaller clump in the Winter - forming a clump of heat shaped leaves with very small star shaped flowers that are cream in Summer, Tiarella have lovely foliage colour that changes in autumn, they are the answer if you have dry shade. Tiarella can can be easily divided by using a fork or spade in Autumn, other than that no pruning is required only to remove dead leaves and flowers. Perfect for attracting wildlife for ground cover, under planting and flower beds. Rabbits and deer tend not to eat this plant. Tiarella is derived from the Greek tiara 'a turban' this refers to the shape of the seed pods that are found after flowering.
