Kniphofia or Red Hot Poker

Excellent news is that it attracts bees, hummingbirds and butterflies, also rabbits and deer resistant!!
When weeding and tidying the pokers be careful as the grass blades can be a little sharp.
To keep it looking tidy just dead heading the flower heads as needed.
They don’t need any tidying until spring time as the old foliage protects the crown during the winter months. When the weather warms up the old foliage can be removed.
Slugs and snails can cause damage to new flower heads and young growth so be ready with the pellets.
