Eryngium or Sea Holly

A beautiful perennial that is grown for the beautiful, unusual thistle like flowers and foliage.

They grow amazingly well in coastal gardens

Where to Site Your Eryngium

They are a fantastic perennial that are perfect for herbaceous borders situated in the middle to back of border, also ideal for gravel gardens

How to Grow and Look after Your Eryngium

To plant sea hollies, they like dry well drained soil, ideally in full sun.

Once they have finished flowering you can dead head or leave the seed heads on as they look very attractive through winter.

In colder areas they may need the roots mulching over and tidy any spent foliage I sprint to prevent any root rot.
