Epimedium
Epimediums can be deciduous or evergreen perennials depending on the variety. They make a carpet for the damp woody areas of the garden. They flower in abundance and have pretty foliage. They like permanently moist soil such as you find on the woodland floor. Planting them in dry soil will lead to their early failure. They are short growing and are the answer for the problem of damp shaded areas of the garden.
