Monarda Cambridge Scarlet 3 Litre Pot
Monarda commonly known as Bergamot are beautiful clump forming perennials.
Monarda Cambridge Scarlet have lovely fragrant hairy foliage that smells even more when crushed and also throughout summer they have whorls of deep red flowers. You can crush the leaves and put them in boiling water to make a nice relaxing tea that is said to cure headaches and temperatures whilst you enjoy the unusual whorls of flowers from summer to autumn. They are worth cutting and popping in a vase to enjoy inside.
To plant Bergamot they like to be in sun or part shade in rich warm soils they don't tend to like the winter wet.
To grow Monarda they need trimming back in autumn winter and an extra bonus about this plant is that every few years you can divide them so you get more!
