Ligustrum Japonicum or Japanese Privet is a handsome small tree with dark-green, evergreen waxy leaves. White scented flowers in late summer followed by dark, glossy berries in autumn.Compact habit makes it perfect for topiary but just as nice as a hedge or specimen. Full sun or partial shade; drought resistant.

In very cold winters it will shed some leaves, but will rebreak the next spring. In urban, costal gardens or warmer areas it is fully evergreen.
