Portuguese Laurel
Prunus lusitanica rootballs makes a great alternative to the classic cherry laurel. With its dark green, medium sized foliage set against red stems, this evergreen plant has a more formal appearance than cherry laurel and many people find it to be particularly attractive. The soft, neatly serrated leaves resemble bay and each summer the plant flowers with hawthorn-scented white blooms
Portuguese laurel rootball hedging is now available. The season has started early due to the cold wet weather.
Root balled hedging is a great way to get large hedging plants for less of an outlay. They are dug from the fields where they grow much fatter than grown in containers.
