Osmanthus / Oleria Hedging

Olearia or Osmanthus

Olearia are also known as daisy bushes and are evergreen shrubs with leathery green leaves. They are renowned for their daisy like flowers which appear in spring or summer.

Osmanthus are evergreen shrubs or small trees. The flowers are produced in spring, summer or autumn and are generally white (but can occasionally be yellow or orange) and star shaped. They have a beautiful fragrance and are often followed by oval blue-black fruits.

A fantastic option for an unusual hedge, pot plant or an eye-catching feature shrub. You would not be disappointed with this one.

Where to Site Your Olearia / Osmanthus

Olearias and Osmanthus have many uses, hedges, banks, slopes, mixed flower borders, once established they can be drought tolerant.

How to Grow and Look after your Olearia / Osmanthus

Plant in any free draining soil, ideally full sun. They can tolerate sea salty conditions and wind.

Happy in both exposed and sheltered sites

Daisy bushes do not require regular pruning but can be trimmed to maintain a neat shape.

Osmanthus prefer fertile, well-drained soil and a sheltered site as they can suffer in cold winds. They thrive in full sun but can tolerate partial shade.

Prune at the end of winter before the first buds appear, you can also prune after they have flowered.
