Fargesia Deep Purple 10 Litre Pot

Fargesia is also known as the Chinese fountain bamboo - they are slower growing than the normal phyllostachys but are still clump forming, they are also slightly dwarf as they only reach between 2 and 4m.

Fargesia Deep Purple has beautiful canes of stunning hues of purple. New canes emerge green but slowly age to varying tones of purple depending on the time of the season. The combination of old and new canes gives a lovely display shades of purples. Height can reach 2.4 / 4m

To grow fountain bamboo the like fertile, moisture retentive soil in sun or partial shade and shelter from cold drying winds, if planting in pots then remember to feed and water.

To care for the fargesias they trim off any dead, damaged or unwanted branches.
