Best planted in a sheltered, partially shady border with moist, humus-rich soil with other shade-loving woodland perennials.
The Dryopteris Affinis is one of the more attractive cultivars and virtually evergreen. Its fronds are pale green as they unfurl in Spring, striking contrast to their scaly golden brown . They can gro up to a height of,1.5 metre, spread 1 metre.
