Cupressus also known as an italian cypress is a classic narrow pencil shaped conifer. Height now 175-200cm
Cupresses - cypress - there are many varities to this family - some are suitable for hedging and can grow fairly fast and some that are a stand alone feature. They form an upright column shape with flattened, aromatic foliage, they can have spherical female cones. Cupressus Pyramidalis - italian cypress - is a classic pencil shaped conifer with dark green foliage. Cupresses like full sun and grow in moist very well drained soil and preferably out of a windy site also on larger specimens it is worth staking them untill they are established. They do require pruning just keep them looking neat and tidy.
