Cornus thrive best in well drained but moist soil, and prefer a position in full sun or partial shade.
Cornus officinalis is a deciduous medium growing garden tree or small tree. Has glossy green foliage that turns autumnal red. In early spring is adorned with small umbels of pretty yellow flowers followed by juicy red fruit in autumn. Can reach 8 metres if left un pruned.
