Pest & Disease Resistance – Prunus serrula is generally pest-resistant, though it may occasionally be affected by aphids or fungal issues such as powdery mildew.

Cold Hardy – Hardy to around -20°C, making it suitable for colder climates, though it thrives best in milder winters.
Perfect Plant Combinations
Prunus serrula pairs beautifully with other ornamental trees, flowering shrubs, and perennials. Its striking bark works well with plants that have contrasting textures, such as grasses, ferns, or low-growing groundcovers. The soft pink flowers in spring complement early bloomers like daffodils, crocuses, or tulips, while the tree’s deep green summer foliage pairs well with both lighter and darker plants.
