Ceanothus ‘Yankee Point’ – Spreading Evergreen with Soft Blue Spring Flowers
Ceanothus ‘Yankee Point’ is one of the most reliable and widely planted Californian lilacs, valued for its broad, spreading habit and abundant spring display of soft, powder-blue flowers. Its arching, evergreen branches create a relaxed, natural shape ideal for softening borders, banks, and large sunny areas.
The glossy, mid-green foliage provides a fresh backdrop throughout the year, while late spring brings a generous wash of blue blooms that attract bees and other pollinators. Its informal form makes it perfect for coastal gardens, Mediterranean-style planting, wildlife schemes, and larger spaces where it can spread freely.
Tough and drought tolerant once established, ‘Yankee Point’ thrives in full sun and free-draining soil, coping well with wind exposure and poor, dry ground. With minimal maintenance and impressive ground-covering ability, it’s a brilliant choice for adding long-term structure, softness, and seasonal colour to the garden.
