Huge laurel at almost 3 metres tall.
Cherry Laurel or common laurel are probably the most widely planted hedge in the country. For good reason, they look great with their luxurious evergreen foliage and not many other plants will give you such an affordable quick growing screen without resorting to the conifer. They are easy to grow as long as you give them good free draining soil and,if you want them to grow quickly, plenty of food. They don't want to be planted in very wet soil, but there are a few tips to getting them away if water is a problem. To keep them out of the wet you can plant them on a raised bed or bund, just high enough that they are up above the worst wet conditions. They can then dip their roots in as they get used to their new surroundings. If the soil is well drained just remember not to plant them below the height they are currently at in the pots. Keep them well watered for the first season after you plant them. If you need more help call us.
