Betula also known as Himalayan Birch - can be a deciduous tree or shrubs, usually colouring well in autumn and often with striking white, pink, or peeling brown bark; separate male and female catkins open before or with the leaves in spring.
Birch trees thrive in full sun and require moist but well-drained soil. In a garden setting it is advised to add a high quality fertiliser when planting such as a tree and shrub compost.
Betula Albo. Fascination are beautiful tree with attractive bark, in shades of orange, reds and browns which peels off to revel new bark. As the tree matures the bark becomes the striking white colour we know contrasting with the dark green foliage. Yellow catkins hang freely in spring.
