Grows well in moist well drained acidic soil in sun or shade Japanese azaleas are short growing, evergreen shrubs. They thrive in acidic soil, bear small leaves and bright showy tubular flowers in mid to late spring. They are the perfect shrub for rockeries, make good gap fillers and will grow well in containers.
