Origanum or oregano is a beautiful semi evergreen ground cover perennial. It has tiny fragrant foliage and produces masses of flowers that last a good while thoughout suumer. They love to be planted in a warm toasty spot at the front of the border or they do look pretty good in pots.If you plant them in a pot it is very handy for cooking and saves the pennies when shopping. Come autumn time, they can be trimmed back and mulch over in winter against the terriably cold weather. They hate really cold wet soils. On a plus rabbits don't like them.
