Lobelia

Lobelia

Lobelia or cardinal flower is a robust strong growing perennial for the middle of the border or damp garden. They form a mass of attractive foliage and are topped by sprays of flowers from late june onwards. They are easy to grow and do well in all soils and sites but do not like to be very cold whilst dormant. Mulch them over in winter to protect the crowns from very hard frosts or dig a clump up and grow some more on in the potting shed.
